The Doctor of Policy Studies programme has flexible delivery modes and strong experiential learning elements including field visits, and academic workshops and seminars. The field visits (including overseas tours) are to ensure that students understand the current mindsets and practices regarding policy studies in other countries and can conduct their research from an international perspective, without simply relying on textbooks, journals, and other publications.

Faculty members in the Political Science Department specialize in a wide range of sub-disciplines, such as the governance and public policies of Hong Kong and China, Asian-Pacific international relations, regional and global politics, public policy and environmental studies.
Teaching and research in the Department of Applied Psychology cover many exciting areas, including occupational health psychology, positive psychology, applied social psychology, cross-cultural psychology, cognitive psychology, work-life balance, and human-computer interaction, etc.

The Department of Translation at Lingnan is one of the largest in Hong Kong, with some of the best translation scholars in the Chinese speaking world. It has long been recognized as one of the top translation departments in Greater China.
