The PhD is a doctoral degree, specifically called a "doctor of philosophy" degree. This is misleading because PhD holders are not necessarily philosophers (unless they earned their degree in philosophy!). That said, PhD recipients are able to engage in thought experiments, reason about problems, and solve problems in sophisticated ways.

To become a master, students must complete a required number of courses at the graduate level. This degree typically takes about two years to complete as a full-time student. Choose among a wide range of topics, including engineering, art, and business.

Israel, officially the State of Israel, is a parliamentary democracy in the Middle East, on the south-eastern shore of the Mediterranean Sea. Israel's financial center is Tel Aviv, while Jerusalem is the country's most populous city if occupied East Jerusalem is included.

The doctoral study program “Theology”, the branch of study “Hussite theology” with a standard length of study of four years prepares students for independent scientific research and independent creative activities in the area of theology. The branch of study enables students to specialize according to his or her individual study plan. The branch of study provides knowledge of hermeneutical approaches and applies them in the contemporary theological discourse and also in the dialogue with confessional approaches of other theological systems. The subject of the studies is a theological compendium interpreted in the course of the Hussite theology. The goal of the studies is a scientific preparation of first-rate experts that are capable of independent scientific work in the area of theology. The branch is simultaneously oriented to awareness of the fact that from the very beginning there is an effort to new understanding and a new interpretation of fundamental theological notions. Thereby the branch is in context with other concepts that were overcoming a metaphysical conception of the world. It deals with the key questions of the Christian belief and Christ present in this world. Students of the branch have got an opportunity to learn how the questions are practically manifested in the current social science of the church as well. -

The doctoral study program “Theology”, the branch of study “Jewish studies” with a standard length of study of four years prepares students for independent scientific research and independent creative activities in the area of Jewish studies. The branch of study enables students to specialize in their profession according to his or her individual study plan. The branch of study develops an intellectual legacy of Jewish studies and applies that in the contemporary religious situation of Judaism. The subject of the studies is Jewish history and culture, synagogue liturgy, Jewish religious philosophy, rabbi literature, reading and interpretation of selected texts of Babylonian Talmud and Hebrew language of rabbi texts. The goal of the studies is a scientific preparation of first-rate experts that are capable of independent scientific work in the area of Jewish studies. The branch is not nationally or confessionally defined but interprets Judaism as a religious phenomenon in the historical contexts overlapping into present problems. Learning about the spiritual values of Judaism enables students to deepen their understanding of Christianity, primarily its ethics. -

The Doctor of Ministry (DMIN) program at Wesley Seminary allows students to build the program that best fits their areas of interest and context. Each students choose six total courses that focus on leadership, preaching, or spiritual formation. This could result in six courses in one area, two courses in each area, or a mix that includes one course in an area, two courses in another, and three courses in a third. -

The livestock sector faces increasing pressure to identify and adopt strategies to reduce resource use and environmental impacts so as to maintain social license within the context of sustainable production and consumption. While relatively efficient in terms of environmental outcomes per unit of product compared to other livestock species, the scale and projected increase in production in the global egg sector necessitates concerted efforts towards achieving this goal. Predictive analytics using artificial intelligence (AI) techniques provide novel and potentially powerful meanings of integrating and parsing diverse data streams from the poultry sector. This four year, funded Ph.D. project will answer this challenge by (1) preprocessing Canadian egg industry data through tasks such as outlier identification and prediction of missing data, which makes data streams suitable for AI techniques; (2) identifying or developing, validating, and implementing the best selected AI techniques; and (3) utilizing lifecycle-based, multi-criteria assessment methods in order to improve sustainability decision support in the Canadian egg industry. -

Artificial intelligence (AI) can be harnessed to develop predictive models of potential climate change impacts and mitigation/adaption measures in a variety of application contexts. In this four year, funded Ph.D. project, predictive analytic models will be developed to estimate the probable range of morbidity, mortality, productivity, resource/environmental, economic, and animal welfare impacts associated with extreme heat events for each livestock species in British Columbia, Canada, under current climate change projections, and to assess the potential benefits/trade-offs associated with scenarios for heat stress risk monitoring and mitigation technology implementation. -

Cultivating and processing animal feed contributes a disproportionate share of the resource and environmental impacts of livestock production. Social license for the livestock sector will also likely be increasingly predicated on its ability to reduce direct competition for arable land and human-edible feed resources. This four year, funded Ph.D. project will answer this challenge by (1) identifying and mapping the availability of alternative feed resources for the poultry industry in Canada, including (for example), single-cell proteins from forest industry residues, insects meals, and food waste-to-feed products; (2) undertaking detailed environmental life cycle assessment and techno-economic assessments of each feed resource pathway, and (3) assessing their potential for contributing to sustainable poultry production based on a combination of environmental, economic, and nutritional objectives and constraints. -
