Currently, it is the only doctoral school specializing in the field of public administration in Hungary. The Doctoral School has eight Ph.D. programs that encompass all the branches and interfaces of forestry and wildlife management sciences. Education and research at the Doctoral School are pursued in the basic and applied sciences, related to forests, wildlife, and nature. The knowledge and the degree gained at the Doctoral School are a good reference when applying for leading positions in higher education institutions, research institutes, forestry, wildlife management, and conservation.

The Doctoral School of Educational Sciences focuses on educational research where features of schools, human aspects, and professional methodology meet with contemporary and historical art and educational considerations.

Due to its profile, our Doctoral School tends to fill a gap, since this is the first doctoral program in Hungary whose training and research curricula focus straightforwardly on business and management issues of small and medium-sized companies and family businesses. PhD in Entrepreneurship and Business offers an educational and training program based on applied sciences from which those interested in the academic career and those associated with everyday economic practice, even those having MBA degrees may benefit.

The structure of the PhD in Clinical Neurosciences of the Medical Faculty is similar to those of most European and American universities. The doctoral (PhD) degree, as the highest qualification attainable at university, is confer- red by the University of Pécs on those who have given evidence of having acquired sufficient practical skills and theoretical knowledge to conduct scientific research independently.

The students receive strong theoretical, research methodology, and scientific backgrounds, and complete their research individually, with some guidance from their supervisors. Supervision is offered by the top experts and wood scientists in Hungary. The topics are typically linked to industrial research or innovation projects so that Sopron doctoral graduates have not only strong theoretical backgrounds but are very practical scientists as well.

The primary aim of our doctoral school is to train scientists who can continue their creative scientific work related to leading fields of chemical engineering and material sciences after finishing their PhD studies. The doctoral school was established on January 1, 2001 as the highest level of chemical engineering education at University of Pannonia. Since then, more than 100 students have earned the PhD degree in our doctoral school.

We expect applicants, who would like to do research concerning the multilingual person and multilingual communities, as well as language teachers, who would contribute to the renewal of language teaching and language learning and making these more effective by academic research.

The Faculty of Law is famous for its excellent graduate courses and valued degrees. Our Doctoral School is based on the esteemed training skills and scholarly capacities of the teaching staff of this Faculty, and it is deeply devoted to the ethical and cultural values represented by the University. Internationality and multidisciplinarity are highly supported and embodied in our doctoral training.

The Doctoral School of Applied Informatics and Applied Mathematics started its activities. in 2009. Its aim is to train researchers – mainly with an engineering background – who are familiar with the methods and techniques of informatics, computer science, and applied mathematics, and can solve real industrial research and development tasks using multi-disciplinary knowledge, communication skills, and teamwork experience.

The Cultural Heritage Management Postgraduate Specialization is the first of its kind in Hungary. It offers students a post-graduate opportunity to examine the growing demand in Europe for trained professionals who possess the skills and education to examine the concepts and relevance of cultural heritage and the sustainable, functioning systems meant to preserve and protect cultural heritage for future generations.
