Curriculum
Natural Sciences
Natural Sciences include chemistry, physics and mathematics. These disciplines are strong components of research at our university and attract many PhD students. The most important scientific topics covered by the programme in chemistry are: new polymers, new biologically active compounds, new methods of analytical chemistry, new diagnostic methods, anticorrosion technology, new nanomaterials as well as functional food. The most active research areas in which PhD students run their projects are within pure chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, polymer sciences, chemical engineering, environmental sciences, chemical technology, food sciences and technology. The research in physical sciences comprises experimental and theoretical physics, atomic and molecular physics. This includes studies of organic optoelectronic devices; optically anisotropic materials; light and charge particle interactions with atomic and molecular systems; computational methods in atomic physics; relativistic effects in atoms; photophysics of light-harvesting molecular systems; quantum information theory; special functions applications; applied acoustics and other. As for mathematics it covers both theoretical and applied mathematics ant their different components.
