Doctorate in Buddhist Studies

Students may choose to focus on one or more Buddhist traditions from the origin of the tradition to the present, studied in historical-cultural contexts, in Asia or the West. Faculty, many of whom are affiliated with the Institute of Buddhist Studies, have close working relationships with the Buddhist studies groups at both the University of California, Berkeley and Stanford, providing students ample opportunity for professional growth.
