Introduction
The Ph.D. in Design is thesis-oriented from day one and is based on understanding the gesture of the profession.
At IADE, students have the opportunity to study and research design with designers and join a reputed Design Research Unit - UNIDCOM/IADE.
This doctoral program has a faculty with extensive professional experience and promotes a strong connection between professor and student, essential in the development and guidance of the doctoral thesis.
Through this doctorate, it is also possible to access the tests to obtain the Title of Aggregate in Design.

By attending the Doctorate in Design, the student will be an integral part of UNICOM/IADE. The R&D Unit of being a Designer.
At UNIDCOM there are doctors, some with the Title of Aggregate, and Members of the Academy to offer a set of lectures, which the doctoral student will have to participate with other students who are on the path of three years to obtain the Degree of Doctor.

Program Outcome
Doctorates in Design will have a high-level cultural and scientific background. They will obtain competences, skills and research methods associated with the Theory and History of Material Culture or Design Sciences or Marketing and Communication.
- Competence in the conception, design, adaptation and carrying out of significant research respecting the requirements imposed by the international scientific community's academic integrity quality standards.
- Competence in participating in a significant set of original research work that has contributed to expanding the frontiers of knowledge, part of which deserves national or international dissemination in publications with a selection committee.
- Competence in critically analyzing, evaluating and synthesizing new and complex ideas in the field of Design.
- Ability to communicate with the rest of the academic community and society in general about Design.
- Ability to promote, in an academic and/or professional context, scientific progress and social and cultural progress.
