We assume they understand the accounting process and recognize the challenges in his practice - but Telfer students will go beyond the limitations of traditional accounting to incorporate an economic dimension, financial, organizational or sociological rigorous in their work on contemporary issues.

The doctoral program is intended to promote the acquisition of a high level of intellectual autonomy and expertise in an area of research. As well, applicants are expected to contribute to the progress of knowledge in their discipline or area of studies by presenting original research in the form of a doctoral dissertation.

The goal of this program is to educate counselors who are also researchers capable of independent and collaborative research. As researchers, they will be able to contribute to the knowledge base that informs counseling and spirituality.

The program, administered by the School of Conflict Studies, studies various dimensions of social, political, and philosophical conflict from a multilevel and multidisciplinary perspective.

Finance is a key discipline at the Telfer School of Management. Students examine the theoretical and analytical foundations of corporate finance, financial instruments, portfolio management, intertemporal options, valuation of assets and risk management. The field gives business graduates in economic sciences and related fields the means to pursue higher education.

Entrepreneurship is essential for developing effective public policies and training of stakeholders in technology commercialization. All his subjects are interdisciplinary, including processes and entrepreneurial cognition, recognition of opportunities, the emergence of new companies, intrapreneurship, social entrepreneurship, policies for SMEs and lending fee.

The School of Social Innovation of the Faculty of Human Sciences at Saint Paul University offers a Ph.D. in Social Innovation. The Ph.D. in Social Innovation provides a space for research and reflection aimed at understanding the dynamics and multiple impacts of social innovations, in order to assess and structure them more efficiently.

The Faculty of Canon Law of Saint Paul University offers graduate programs leading to a doctor of philosophy in canon law (Ph.D. (CL)). The civil degree is conferred jointly by Saint Paul University and the University of Ottawa under the terms of the federation agreement between them.

Human resource management and organizational behavior students (GRHCO) will develop a taste for research and knowledge with respect to matters related to the human aspect of the work, as topics at the individual level (p. ex. recruitment, selection, job analysis, performance), relational subjects (p. ex. link people to work, mentors-protected relationship, leader-follower relationship, diversity and equity) and subjects at the organizational level (p. ex. organizational learning, change management, compensation systems, industrial relations), but also in relation to subjects from other disciplines such as psychology and sociology.

Saint Paul University, through its faculties of Human Sciences, Theology, Philosophy, and Canon Law, offers a PhD in Interdisciplinary Research on Contemporary Social Issues. This degree is conferred jointly by the Senates of Saint Paul University and the University of Ottawa under the terms of the federation agreement between them. The interdisciplinary research doctorate provides a space for reflection to increase understanding of contemporary social issues taking account of the insights of the graduate disciplines of the four participating faculties.
