The Ph.D. program aims to instill in students the skills needed to identify research issues in Chemical Engineering, formulate an original research plan, and develop creative and innovative solutions that address the research issue. Students are required to undertake coursework and successfully complete a dissertation to demonstrate competence in research.

The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Program in Bioengineering facilitates the close integration of biological, physical, and computational sciences and engineering in the study of biological processes. The programs adopt a systematic and quantitative approach to the study of biological systems. The aim is to provide students with the necessary knowledge to contribute to the biomedical industry as well as to optimize existing bioprocesses, and to develop new biomedical technologies.

Bioscience is a diverse but often converging field of study that applies knowledge to develop biological solutions to sustain, restore, and improve the quality of life for humans, plants, and animals. Biomedical Engineering is the application of engineering principles and design concepts to biology and medicine for advanced healthcare in diagnostics, monitoring, and therapy. Bioscience and Biomedical Engineering are strongly interdisciplinary which involve Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, IT and Computer Science.
