The Ph.D. Economic and Organizational Sociology was established by the Technical University of Lisbon in 1991 and adapted to the European Higher Education Area in 2009.

IUGS students are typically mid-career professionals who completed post-baccalaureate coursework. Students who need additional coursework to fulfill their requirements will be provided the opportunity to take the course(s) at another accredited institution or through independent study at IUGS.

Our program offers training in developmental, cognitive, and social/personality psychology with an emphasis on interdisciplinary research and tailored training experiences that adapt to the specific needs of each student.
